Situated atop the rolling hills of Balhannah sits the idyllic Nepenthe cellar door. The award-winning wine’s flagship, only a short 30-minute drive from Adelaide CBD and minutes from historic Hahndorf, reopened its doors last year after its multimillion-dollar renovation and now offers a perfect venue for occasions and special events.
Boasting incredible views of the Mount Lofty hills and surrounding vineyards through its floor-to-ceiling windows, Nepenthe’s cellar door serves as a space of consideration and celebration of its environment – much like its winemaking process. The cellar door features three distinct spaces which are all available to book for private functions, corporate events and other celebrations. The entire cellar door, lawn and expansive deck area are available for hire. For a luxurious event, the pinot-noir coloured APEX room is the right fit. This space features a circular design that is artfully mirrored in the feature light and bespoke table crafted by Timberwolf Design. Views out to the lawn and vineyards beyond can be enjoyed from every seat. This room is most suitable for groups of up to fourteen.
For a cocktail hour with up to fifty guests, the barrel room poses a beautiful backdrop created by old wine barrels from the winery, with a custom curved couch crafted by Agostino and Brown facing the lush lawn. The gallery room boasts high ceilings, a sandstone mural, a fireplace and floor-to ceiling windows that allows natural light to stream in. This is an ideal location for dining and for groups of up to sixty guests.
