Pikes Wines was established in 1984 by brothers Neil and Andrew Pike. Today, Andrew’s son Jamie is leading the business as Managing Director and the winery will be celebrating its 40th birthday in 2024. Located in the Polish Hill River subregion of Clare Valley, Pikes Wines provides visitors with stunning views of rolling hills, vineyards, and ancient gum trees. The historic stone buildings stand as a lingering testament to the original Polish settlers and to the legacy of the Pike family themselves.

Pikes Wines is most known for riesling, however, the winery has grown over twenty different varieties and produces a range of approximately twenty-three different SKUs every year. Riesling, shiraz, cabernet and sangiovese are the four hero varieties that the winery specialises in.

Pikes Wines have received numerous accolades, including the Halliday People’s Choice Award for Best Winery Experience in 2021 and 2022, the 2023 Traditionale Riesling won Best Dry Riesling at the Canberra International Riesling Challenge. It also won best 2023 Riesling and the Mick Knapstein trophy for Best Riesling of Show at the 2023 Clare Valley Regional Wine Show. The restaurant on-site is the Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat winner for five years running.

Pikes Wines offers a range of experiences. The tasting room offers complimentary tastings starting with the iconic traditionale riesling, followed by four wines of choice from the extensive wine list. The SLATE restaurant offers a casual modern Australian dining experience overlooking the vineyards of the estate. Pruner’s Hut is the hill-top space available for a private dining experience, featuring a long lunch with paired wines, all cooked and served by the Head Chef Louis Ritchie.

For the beer lovers, Pikes Beer Company is the adjoining brewery, offering tasting paddles of the freshly brewed craft beers seven days a week. For a more relaxed dining option, Pikes Beer Company also offers a beer garden menu everyday between 12pm and 3pm.
