Kersbrook Hill Wines

Claiming a cosy corner on the main street of Kersbrook, the Kersbrook Hill cellar door forms an idyllic backdrop to enjoy a glass of the winery’s acclaimed vintages or sit back with a cup of coffee and a homestyle pizza. This charming atmosphere is brought to life by the friendly and welcoming service and true regional hospitality; with the accommodating staff happy to walk you through the vast range Kersbrook Hill’s delectable wines and ciders.

This family-owned and -operated vineyard, winery and cellar door was founded in 1997 by managing director and winemaker Paul Clark, and today it offers thirty-five exquisite wines and traditional basket-press cider. During its inception, Clark took great care in laying out the vineyard to avoid disturbing the native vegetation and to also capitalise on the afternoon sun, particularly during the slightly cooler ripening period found in late March and early April; proven to be ideal for producing fruit of the highest standard.

The Kersbrook Hill cellar door followed in 2009 and utilised two disused buildings in Kersbrook; the old Kersbrook CFS Station, and the Kersbrook Cold Store – Farmers CO-OP. With a few minor and not so minor modifications, Paul and his team have transformed these spaces into the bustling cellar door known and loved today.

Now a premium 5-star producer, Kersbrook Hill’s award-winning wine is available to taste all day at the cellar door, along with delicious cider, port and dessert wines. Whilst the winery’s specialty is cool climate wines, the expert team is always experimenting with new and different styles to create ‘small batch’ wines that catch the imagination and delight the senses, and many of these unique vintages are exclusive to the cellar door.

For those after something a little different, the Premium Basket Pressed Apple Cider is handmade using traditional techniques to capture the freshness of the locally grown apples, resulting in a crisp and refreshing taste. For beer lovers, this year Kersbrook Hill have completed their range of drinks with the addition of the very refreshing Lager and Session Ale. Their slogan “Just Good Beer” says it all!

With its unique atmosphere and distinctive collection of boutique wines and cider in the highest possible quality, a visit to the Kersbrook Hill cellar door is an absolute must for wine lovers alike. Head to Kersbrook Hill’s Facebook page for the latest specials and events at the cellar door

Tasting Notes

Premium Cabernet Cuvee
⇐ Premium Cabernet Cuvee

Made from one-hundred percent cabernet, this sparkling red is deep crimson in colour. The front palate opens with a fruit sweetness, that deepens to strong flavours of raspberry and blackberries. These raspberry flavours provide a tartness, creating a fresh clean finish. A great wine to be enjoyed with friends

2016 Expat Shiraz
⇐ 2016 Expat Shiraz

This shiraz is made with dry-grown grapes sourced from a vineyard in the southern Barossa Valley, free from any chemical sprays. These grapes are then transformed into an elegant wine using the traditional techniques of open fermentation and basket pressing. The resultant shiraz is a deep colour, with a delightful palate of plum and blackberry laced with sweet pepper.

Ellie Mae Rosé
⇐ Ellie Mae Rosé

Named for winemaker Paul Clark’s beloved granddaughter, this rosé is made with shiraz grapes from the brilliant 2021 vintage. A beautiful translucent crimson colour, this dry wine allows the delicate fruit flavours of cherry and strawberry to shine.

The Fika
⇐ The Fika

Aptly named The Fika – a Swedish word meaning ‘a moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life’ – this low alcohol riesling is bursting with fruit flavour and is ideal for enjoying lunch with friends, whilst appealing to the health conscious with an alcohol content of a mere eight percent
