Jacob’s Creek
Jacob’s Creek
Jacob’s Creek is rooted in 165 years of winemaking tradition, which began when Johann Gramp planted the Barossa Valley’s first commercial vineyard on the banks of Jacob’s Creek in 1847.
Today, Jacob’s Creek offers a number of unique experiences. Enjoy fresh local produce, great-tasting wines and a rich history, all while appreciating the breathtaking vineyard scenery and views of the Barossa Ranges.
The Jacob’s Creek Brand Home is set on a forty-two-hectare site, which has a picturesque bike track that weaves between the vineyards. It offers a peaceful garden walking trail, where guests can enjoy the native wildlife while strolling along the banks of the world-famous creek. Visitors may also walk through the display vineyard to learn more about how Jacob’s Creek makes wine, grows grapes, and the different varietals that grow around the winery.
Visit the Our Table restaurant, where a love and passion for food and wine is shared. Contemporary Australian food sourced from local South Australian producers is elegantly matched with award-winning titles. Our Table also features a kitchen garden and tennis court, making it a lovely place in which to enjoy an afternoon.
Jacob’s Creek offers an Introduction to Wine experience, where your senses and palate are used to learn more about how to taste and enjoy wines. If you’d like to take it to the next level, join the Food & Wine Masterclass and enhance your knowledge while enjoying a four-course meal.
With every opportunity to indulge yourself in the world of food and wine, it’s no wonder that Jacob’s Creek is one of the leading tourism sites in Australia. Blend your own wine, learn more about the world of Jacob’s Creek or enjoy a cooking class in the kitchen garden. Jacob’s Creek is a must-visit location for all.
Tasting Notes
⇐ 2017 Jacob’s Creek Barossa Signature Chardonnay
An approachable, modern, full flavoured chardonnay showcasing the classic regional characteristics of Barossa. The intense nose offers honeydew melon, stone fruit and citrus aromas. The palate is generous and balanced by varietal flavours complemented by nutty cashew notes. Enjoy with risotto of smoked trout, capers and wild mushrooms or pork fillets with lemon and garlic sauce.
⇐ 2019 Jacob’s Creek Le Petit Rosé
A fresh and delicate rosé showcasing a modern Australian approach and premium fruit from selected blocks of pinot noir, grenache and mataro. The aromatic nose shows red currant and spice. Restrained and well balanced, the dry palate is savoury and chalky, with vibrant fruit flavours. Enjoy with a variety of light savoury dishes, from charcuterie, quiche or souffle to seafood, salad and pasta.
⇐ 2017 Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Shiraz
Something to savour. The full, generous flavours of classic Barossa shiraz are enhanced by careful use of aged Scotch whisky barrels for finishing. The intense nose offers aromas of cedar, vanilla bean and buttered toast with notes of pecan nut and roast cashew, as well as an attractive, savoury palate of blackberry and ripe plum with integrated cherry notes and a lovely soft finish.
⇐ 2012 Centenary Hill
Ripe berry fruit flavours, well integrated stylish oak, leading to a long, fine finish.
