Grant Burge Wines

Grant Burge Wines

The Grant Burge Wines story officially began in 1988, when Grant Burge and his wife Helen established the business. However, as with many great winemakers, viticulture was already firmly ingrained in the Burge family history, with its roots tracing back to the mid-19th century. Overlooking the stunning views of the Barossa Valley from Krondorf, Grant Burge Wines encompasses a massive 400 hectares of vineyard on-site.

With a variety of reds, whites, sparkling and fortified wines on offer, Grant Burge Wines provides a broad range of variety. Led by Craig Stansborough, the Grant Burge Wines team is meticulous in its approach to winemaking, carefully considering each stage of the process from vineyard to bottle; this ensures the highest-quality wine is consistently produced.

Stansborough has been with the company for more than twenty-five years, obtaining his first job at the Grant Burge Wines Seppeltsfield cellar. Having such an in-depth introduction into the industry has encouraged Stansborough to create outstanding vintages that reflect the history of the company. Grant Burge Wines takes a minimalist approach to viticulture, employing recent innovations from within the industry to increase the quality of their wines, and maintain the health of the soil in their vineyards.

Grant Burge Wines is a must-visit for any wine enthusiast. Enjoy impressive views across the Barossa Valley while tasting premium wines at the Krondorf cellar door, and take in the distinctive panorama surrounds while enjoying a bottle of your favourite wine. Not to be missed, Grant Burge Wines has proven itself to be a deserving institution in the Barossa Valley region.

Tasting Notes

NV Grant Burge Sparkling Pinot Noir

This traditional-method sparkling is rich and generous with a real vitality that’s heightened by a creamy mouthfeel. The wine adapts to its environment, and can be enjoyed with food or on its own.

Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz

The winery’s flagship shiraz, which is only released in vintages of outstanding quality is handpicked from Barossa vines. The fruit has tremendous concentration and intensity, resulting in a powerful yet beautifully balanced wine.

⇐ Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz

The Grant Burge Wines Filsell Shiraz is created from grapes sourced from vines that are nearly a century old. The fruit shows incredible intensity and concentration. The deep, rich wine pairs beautifully with hearty meat dishes.

⇐ Grant Burge 10 Year Old Tawny

Made from the Barossa Valley’s traditional tawny varieties of grenache, mataro and shiraz, and blended to an average age of ten years, this wine is released in a strictly limited quantity. The tawny is drawn from the Grant Burge Wines solera for bottling each year, and the barrels are topped with selected younger wine.
