Founded in 1988 by Helen and Grant Burge, the winery pays homage to the family’s entwined history and relationship with viticulture, which spans centuries long.
The winery present today is the cumulation of five generations’ labour. With knowledge carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation, the Burge family’s connection with the land has grown, becoming innate and informing the winery’s minimalist approach to viticulture and its award-winning wines observable today.
The family’s rich history is woven throughout the fabric of Grant Burge Wines, observable down to the minutiae. The Grant Burge cellar door is housed within the historic Meshach Cellar, nestled amongst manicured vines at the pinnacle of Krondorf Road. Standing as a testament to the winery’s high-calibre, Grant Burge Wines has been awarded a 5-red star rating by James Halliday, and its premium selection of wines and careful vineyard management are undeniable contributing factors that uphold the exceptional quality the winery is renowned for.
Craig Stansborough is Grant Burge Wine’s chief winemaker and has produced an impressive thirty vintages with the winery in total. Several releases from Grant Burge Wines have received 90 points or more in the 2021 Halliday Wine Companion, including its 40 Year Old Super Rare Fortified Tawny NV that received 98 points overall. Such wines are created to embody and inspire generosity – encouraging treasured memories shared with loved ones.

⇐ NV Grant Burge Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay

Steeped in history, the Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz is created from the fruit of century-old vines. Rich in every aspect from colour to aroma and even taste, this wine demonstrates incredible intensity and concentration. Enjoy now, or confidently cellar for up to twenty years.
⇐ Grant Burge Nebu Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz
Rich and powerful fruit permeate the palate of this robust wine. Dark red fruits dominate the middle palate, alleviated by notes of silky chocolate layered in the background. A beautifully balanced wine exhibiting warm spice and tangy sweetness.
⇐ Grant Burge 10 Year old Tawny
A match made in heaven, glorious grenache, mataro and shiraz grapes combine to form this quintessential Barossa tawny. The wine is assessed and re-blended into a solera-based system before aging for ten years on average, producing a tawny with a sweet and mellow palate with established fruit and oak tannin flavours.
