Doc Adams Bar & Tasting Shed is the new home base for Doc Adams Wines, which was first established in 2005 when husband-and-wife doctors and vineyard owners, Elizabeth and Darren Waters, joined forces with viticulturist Adam Jacobs to make wine under their own label.
With a focus on fruit-driven wines, minimal intervention and quality products, Doc Adams Wines specialises in varieties that grow optimally in McLaren Vale’s Mediterranean climate. These incredible wines include shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, tempranillo, grenache and mataro.
The winery has won many accolades, including a trophy and gold medals at many prominent Australian and international wine shows. Doc Adams Wines was also awarded McLaren Vale Cellar Door of the Year in the 2017 Kaleidoscopic Travel McLaren Vale Cellar Door of the Year Awards, with this remarkable achievement being attained within its first year of opening. This accolade was awarded for outstanding customer service, exceptional quality, and unwavering support of the McLaren Vale wine region.
Doc Adams Wines has now relocated and transformed into a back-to-basics venue operating out of a revamped wine shed halfway between Adelaide and McLaren Vale. The Doc Adams Bar & Tasting Shed offers an intimate cellar door experience, maintaining the brand’s enjoyable, relaxed approach to wine tasting. Here, visitors can speak with the friendly staff and explore the range of wines on offer.
The Bar & Tasting Shed is the perfect place for casual functions, whether that’s with family, friends or for a work event. This is a medium-bodied red wine rich in aromatics and flavours of plum, sour cherry and spice. The tannins are soft, making it a fantastic wine to have with food such as pasta, pizza and paella.

This sparkling shiraz is like Christmas in a bottle. There are layers of flavour including glazed cherry, fruitcake and orange peel. The finish is a touch sweet, making it perfect for brunch or to start Christmas day.

This white wine is summer in a glass! There is a burst of passionfruit, honeydew and fruit salad flavours on this fruity yet crisp wine. An absolute must-have with prawns, calamari or mussels.
⇐ Doc Adams 1838 First Vines Shiraz
A rich and concentrated red wine made from grapes grown on vines that are more than one hundred years old. The tannins are soft, yet firm. This wine is the result of maturation in an eclectic mix of seasoned French, American and Russian Oak barrels. Enjoy now or in fifteen years with lamb shanks, venison or chicken chasseur.
