David Franz Lehmann started his eponymous company in 1998, and today, the winery boasts an impressive thirty-two hectares of vines. David assumes a multitude of roles within the company, including those of viticulturist, winemaker, designer and cook; he also oversees the winemaking process from vineyard to bottle.

Since its establishment, the winery has received a number of prestigious accolades. In both 2018 and 2019, Gourmet Traveller WINE awarded david Franz its Best Small Cellar Door in the Barossa Valley award. The winery has also maintained a 5-star rating from the James Halliday Wine Companion.
