Banrock Station

Banrock Station

Banrock Station is an environmental masterpiece located in South Australia’s Riverland region. The winery’s commitment to producing good wine is  matched only by its passion for conserving the natural environment. The natural habitat zones on the property exist side-by-side with Banrock  Station’s vineyards, complying with the highest environmental standards. This area of preserved natural beauty is what makes the brand and its wine most unique.

Situated in the heart of the Riverland, Banrock Station’s vineyards and Ramsar accredited wetlands reflect its passion for good wine and dedication to protecting the environment. With several experiences on offer, ranging from wine tasting and picnics to self-guided wetlands tours and even guided bird watching tours, spend a day at Banrock Station’s unique home and embrace the stunning vistas at the cellar door.

The rammed earth walls on one side protect the building from the harsh summer sun. In addition, rooftop solar help to minimise their impact on the environment. Savour some of the award-winning local wines, relax on the deck with a meal from the on-site restaurant or venture on a walking trail to explore the magnificently restored wetlands on Banrock Station’s unique property.

Over the past twenty-five years, Banrock Station has donated more than 7.5 million dollars to more than 130 conservation projects in thirteen countries around the world. At its Riverland home, Banrock Station has been dedicated to restoring its surrounding Ramsar-accredited wetlands, providing a haven for native plants, animals and threatened bird life. Now, the team at Banrock Station are partnering with Landcare Australia to plant native trees and shrubs, creating habitats for Australian wildlife and communities to enjoy while removing harmful carbon from the atmosphere for generations to come.

The Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Centre is a must-see destination for nature lovers, allowing visitors to experience the magnificently restored wetlands, featuring story centres, information huts and bird-watching hides. At the centre, visitors can enjoy breakfast, lunch or coffee on the alfresco deck with a menu that showcases the best of Riverland regional produce. It also offers the full range of Banrock Station wines for tasting. Banrock Station has garnered multiple tourism awards and accreditations in its time, including the esteemed TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award in 2021 and an EcoStar accreditation from the Tourism Industry Council of South Australia
