A Warm Welcome
The 2019 vintage at Katnook Estate marks an exciting new phase in the company’s history, as it is Tim Heath’s first full vintage as senior
winemaker. The team also welcomed Dan McNichol, a recent graduate from the University of Adelaide’s winemaking degree, as assistant winemaker.
Before assuming his current role, Heath worked at Mountadam Vineyards in the Barossa before moving to New Zealand’s Cloudy Bay, where he was senior winemaker for more than fifteen years. Tim is Katnook Estate’s second winemaker, taking over from founding winemaker, Wayne Stehbens. “I’m enjoying being part of the team at Katnook Estate, which has some of the finest terroir in the Coonawarra region, as well as incredible pedigree and history,” Heath says.
The 2019 vintage showcases the exceptional wines produced by the collaborative team at Katnook Estate. The winemaking and vineyard teams have worked together to maximise the potential of all varietals, while also trialling new and innovative winemaking initiatives.
