Based in the beautiful McLaren Vale, DOWIE DOOLE has two estate vineyards spread across 75-hectares; the Dowie Vineyard is located on Blewitt Springs’ sandy soils, while the Doole Vineyard inhabits the ancient rocks of Tatachilla, two excellent terroirs with a geological history that spans back 650 million years.
Since its establishment in 1995, DOWIE DOOLE has incorporated sustainable practices in the growing and crafting of its wines; all wines are estate grown and made, embodying the true essence of Australia. The winery has a particular fondness for grenache and shiraz, two varietals well suited to the McLaren Vale region. Other quality varietals such as chenin blanc, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay can be found amongst the Dowie and Doole vineyards.
At DOWIE DOOLE, you can experience the best of the rugged Australian lifestyle, with wines crafted to be enjoyed on the beach, by a fire, or among friends around a table – one of the many reasons they are enjoyed around the world.
Visit the architecturally designed tasting room, known as the Tasting Pod, with 360-degree views of the vineyards. This uniquely intimate tasting room is set among the Doole Vineyard, with vast outdoor spaces where you can sip on flights of wine. You can even indulge in a Tasting Pod Pack in the comfort of your own home – this includes six 100mL bottles of wine, two DOWIE DOOLE branded glasses, and full tasting notes.

⇐ DOWIE DOOLE DD Grenache
This grenache is a true reflection of the two terroirs of DOWIE DOOLE. The Dowie Vineyard fruit gifts the wine a more elegant spectrum of grenache flavours, while the Doole Vineyard offers depth and weight to the wine. There’s a lifted bouquet of strawberry, raspberry and cassis, with red fruit on the palate and a gentle tanning line.
⇐ DOWIE DOOLE Dowie Vineyard Chenin Blanc
The Dowie Vineyard Chenin Blanc is sourced exclusively from vines planted in 1933. The bouquet has a lifted spectrum of fruit with notes of guava, passionfruit and citrus. Chenin blancs’ hallmark lemon sherbet acid line underpins the wine, giving great length and age ability.
⇐ DOWIE DOOLE DD Shiraz Grenache
The elegant shiraz characters for this wine are sourced from the cooler slopes of the Dowie Vineyard, while the grenache is sourced from the Doole Vineyard – this more Mediterranean climate adds fruit lift and weight to the wine. The palate is rich and full with layers of red and black fruits; plums, strawberries, subtle spice and white pepper.
⇐ DOWIE DOOLE DD Shiraz
The DD Shiraz has fruit sourced from the two DOWIE DOOLE terroirs, with each vineyard contributing unique characters to the finished wine. The palate is rich and full, with layers of plums and cherries, notes of milk chocolate, and subtle spice. The subtle use of oak and twenty months maturation adds lift and completes the palate structure.
