The ever-so picturesque 1847 Winery Chateau Yaldara is one of the oldest boutique wineries in the Barossa Valley and the most photographed cellar door in the region. Steeped in history, the winery was founded in 1947 by Hermann Thumm, a German immigrant who was raised in a family of vintners and was immensely passionate about wine. The venue was purchased in 2014 by 1847 Wines, and today, the unique building has many private tasting rooms where you can soak in the majestic atmosphere.

The winery has won many awards over the years for its spectacular wines, with one of its most celebrated being the ‘Best Fortified in the World Award’, which its 40-Year-Old Tawny received at the 2019 Chinese Wine and Spirit Awards.
